Matthew Johnson
Matthew is the new Development worker based at St Andrew’s.
Matthew is excited about joining the team at St Andrew's and is beginning to get to know some of the people who
attend the church and who use the building.
Like Kay, who was our previous development worker, Matthew will be working will
those who use the building and looking at ways to expand its use by the
local community both socially and spiritually.
Matthew will be in St Andrew's on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in
term-time between 10am and 2pm and
would love to meet anyone who would like to come in and introduce
themselves.
Matthew writes:
"
As a child in Northampton town where I attended Doddridge URC I used
to dream of spending more time by the seaside, so at age 20 I moved
to Heachem in north Norfolk. Eventually I made my way down to
Norwich where I became an active member of Prince's street URC and
began the journey of following my sense of Calling.
So here I am in Cheltenham. A full-time student at the University of
Gloucestershire, a youth worker and now Church Development Worker.
Which is all a real change as I spent most of last decade cooking
and managing busy kitchens.
I love to travel, enjoy living a spiritually principled way of life
and hope to start playing golf again next year."
