Warden
Hill URC is a modern church situated in a large housing development
on the southern edge of Cheltenham. The church is built next to a children’s
play area and at the end of a small parade of local shops. The housing estate
was built in the 1950’s and further housing developments have been added in
the 1960’s and 80’s. The area attracts families, first time buyers as well
as retired people.
On 22nd January 2006 Warden Hill URC signed a ‘Declaration of Intent’ to form a Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) with the nearby Anglican Church St Christopher's. Both churches have worked closely together for many years and the congregations support working together more closely. All services are now united and the venues alternate on a weekly basis between the two buildings (see services for more details.)
